The mats set up is very similar to how I have mine- I dont have a sub floor- its not permanent-
looks like Frank bought connectable firm foam sports flooring to put under his mats- they are the perfect height so you can cut out a section to set the hitting sensor in.-
I am a bit worried though for Frank if he has some ppl over that dont golf much- they will surely shank a few more right and left than your curtains.. :P

My base is a 1" foam MMA mat from rubberflooring.com because I was trying to match the hight up with a Dura-pro golf mat I had already from dw quail golf. I put the MMA mat down then the dura-pro mat on top and made the proper cut outs for the base unit. Then I got another dura-pro mat that I use as a stance mat. It is definitely not the most cost conscious way to go and even though I really like it so far if I started again from scratch I would do differently. I built a wood frame with 3/4" plywood then covered it in outdoor carpet for the putting sensor. I did not have an unlimited amount of room to work with. I built a PVC frame and attached the pro tee supplied impact screen using hooks screwed into the PVC. I'm still tinkering on making a slice/shank proof impact net for guests and my 13 year old daughter who loves the new addition to her family room. I'll never be able to host a lefty so I'm just going to extend the PVC along the right side wall and hang some netting to protect the window/wall. My set up is like most new sims "a work in progress". I'm loving the pro tee system so far and all the things I'm learning from this forum and the people at pro tee has been great. I'm having almost as much fun trying to tweet my sim as I am playing the courses.

Congrats on being a ProTee sim owner. What about the protection on the ceiling for flop shots?

I have touchscreen monitor, but keyboard is way easier to navigate. I need to come up with something to connect the keyboard to the monitor or attach something to the wall so you can stand and type.


The monitor is above the stance mat, so I built a projector protection box. I mounted the HCam under the box.

Nice sim room Matt.

A couple of things. The mat around the putting sensor should be a little bit bigger to cover up the bright spots on the floor.

Also, the putting carpet needs to cover the putting sensor. You don't want to putt over the plastic.

My entire setup is non-permanent or it would be totally sweet like mjbgolf's mancave. I bought a $6 black entry mat from Walmart and cut it to fit the putting sensor pad using the precision craftsmanship of the finest Dollar Tree scissors. I attached it with 4 strips of 2-sided carpet tape. Please take note of the ultra lush shag carpet from my dorm room days in college. True story--I found a cheeto while vacuuming it but I wasn't hungry...I digress.
