  • Bama Gambler Golf Club - my sim project

I've had a net return plus skytrak for about 6 months. I decide to start small to make sure I would actually hit balls at home. I love it! Time to upgrade. I'll post my progress in this thread.

Here is my net return setup.

Looks good! Will you have a net behind the screen? I've heard the HQ2 screen holds up with or without a net. Looking forward to hearing about the results

I know of one golfer who put holes in 2 HQ screens. Better back it up with a net.

What projector are you using? It looks great.

Net will be for top and sides of enclosure. No net behind screen. It was too tight so Par2Pro is sending me some cord. Should be here today and I hope to upload finished pictures tonight. 😀

Here is projector. I'll give it a review after I have everything setup and can play a few rounds.

Excellent, that's the same one I just got! Looks like we are on similar schedules, although it will take me a while to get curtains and flooring in. At least I'll be able to play soon.

Package didn't come today. Should be here tomorrow. I can't wait to get this project complete. I'm dying to play on my new setup.

Netting more or less installed. I need to attach in a few more spots. Then I need to put up the canopy and inset the CCE mat insert.

That looks awesome! Very nicely done. Can imagine how much more the screen will pop at night time as well. Gotta get some blackout shaded for the window. Now I just wish I had that cooling system you have. 4k is a little beyond what I want to pay right now. Still feeling out other, cheaper fixes.

As much as I'd like a cooling and heating system like that as well, I had to settle for a craiglist used window ac unit. Cools it off enough to play comfortably.

What's the size of the screen? Are you running 16:9 ratio to get widescreen like that? Looks awesome!

                  Thanks guys!

Ironstrokes there will be a cover so no need for blackout curtains.

Jbryant016 yes it is 16:9. The screen is 14ft wide. 😀

Looking good! I have blackout blinds for my basement plus oversized thick curtains. Install curtains at least 12 inches wider than the window. Works great! Nice set up.

Cover done. Of course I put it on wrong the first time and had to redo it.

I'm 6'5". I stood by the screen to give you an idea on the size. If you are looking at screens go as big as you can!

Caught this drive a little low on the club face.

Looks perfect! Looks like you got the screen tension dead on as well there, not much bounce back at all. Congrats on finally getting it all done. I know the excitement you gotta be having over it right now. Get that same feeling every time I'm out I'm my garage and realize I actually have a simulator in my garage haha. The best is when you'll be playing out there when it's pouring rain outside, you just get a smug smirk and think of all the suckers out there that don't get too play a round of golf right now haha
