  • Best mat I've ever hit off of, wow!

I'm in the process of building my golf sim and have been using old mats from when I was a Golf Course Superintendent. I'm a 50 year old with a 10 handicap with the old system...if that matters. I've also got a wrist that is so bad that when the doctors look at my MRI, they all say...wow, that's impressive since it's so bad. So yes, I need all the cushioning I can get if I want to hit a couple hundred balls at a time off a mat and live to tell about it.

I purchased a CCE mat after reading about it here on this site and ordered through Costco for $450. Then I went to my old club where I was the Super....and they bought new mats which changed everything for me. They were so good that the next day I called the Pro to ask what he purchased. It's the Quattro Mat from Wittek Eagle One....a company I used to buy things from so I was familiar with them. Top notch products for sure.

So I ordered one and will be returning my CCE mat back even before I try to compare. I paid $399 for the Wittek Quattro plus another $100 for shipping. Next day after I ordered (ouch), they went on sale for $325. Get yours now.

Just thought I'd throw this post out there for others that are old and have pain like I do so that there is a solution...the Quarrto!

    Play well.

Yeah, that looks very similar as well.

That particular one looks like it might have more height to it than the Quattro...not sure.

I do know that when I first stepped on the Quatro mat, I never thought it seemed like it was a tall mat...seemed very normal, just like any other. I'll be able to re-evaluate that tomorrow when my mat arrives.

I purchased two pieces of the YGT-3D mat 12 x 35 for $175 USD total delivered to Canada. I'll keep everyone posted on the transaction

Yea, same question, did purchase of 2 lower the shipping by $54?

No it appears to be a shipping price difference between the US and Canada as best as I can tell.

I would also assume shipping would be the difference

Nice thanks - for $20, I just ordered 6 samples from PurchaseGreen, I could not tell which one was the Putting - Chipping Green Platinum , so I ordered samples of all with Platinum in the name, and the 2 that were putting greens.

I will post up here when I get the samples.

Ducati07 - did you pay $325? It looks like it's back at $399 when I saw it? Curious how it feels for hitting shots off of, but if I end up with some, I would have to have it cut exactly to fit my ProTee sensor, or have someone that can make those die cut holes ( ProTee United ), not sure if there is a way to have that done? If I like this mat for it's cushioning, I would prefer it on my sensor, and then to continue with it throughout my Sim space, so would need a pretty large piece, as a replacement for something like SymLawn, or whatever it is? I've heard that can be expensive as well?

Maybe this is a good idea, maybe not?

I paid $399 and then on top of that it was around $102 for shipping to Northern California. Would pay a couple hund more if I had to, it was that nice...to me. Then the next day after it went on sale I decided to email them a few days later and ask for a refund of the difference or a credit. They emailed back same day with a refund of $80 and some change. Then I did notice a couple of days later after I posted this thing that it went back up to the original price.

I don't have any experience with the other mats mentioned. Only experience I have is the old stuff I used which is crap and I was recently at one of Northern California's best Country Clubs where I hit on their mats. Although those were very nice, the Quattro was better.

As far as cutting it goes, I'm not sure that would work since I think the way it's woven would prevent any clean spaces. Not sure on that.

As far as making it for a putting surface, not sure on that either but my guess off the top of my head would be a no. Due to the way it's matted down and all knarly....I think it wouldn't putt true. I'll be rolling some on it tomorrow and let you know what I think.

My plan is for this thing to hit off and then go with some high quality putting surface around it.

Enjoy the mats...I'm sure you will.

I’m interested in this may as well. I have the fiberbuilt but am considering returning it. I don’t like how the ball sits on it and Id prefer a mat you can hit off of anywhere on the mat, my setup has to be for lefty and righty.

Quattro came in today. Hit some shots and my statement is the same...this thing is awesome! I rolled some putts on it and it's hard to tell since it's only a 5 foot mat...but they rolled pretty true, although too slow for my preference as far as using it for a putting surface.

I'm attaching photos next that include the height, surface view, how the ball sits (beautifully), and a shot of a couple of adjustable non-breakable plastic tees that fit into the eight holes in the mat.

Just in time for the bad weather headed my way next week! Time to hit some shots...

But first, I'm going to Costco to return the CCE Mat that came on the same truck!

                Play well!

How did it feel to stand, did it feel too soft or squishy?

It's not squishy at all. Soft, yes.

I think the pictures make it seem like there's this big gap with lots of space, but it's not really that big and is firm enough for full shots.

You can get the those tee's through Wittek Eagle One. They're super cheap and hold up really well. They're adjustable for height preference.

Purchased a 48"x18" mat to hit off of next to my CCE mat so that its the same length (should never have bought that...)
                    160 USD shipped to Canada.

How is the height relative to a CCE mat (or relative to 1.75" if you don't have CCE)? On the road so the golf ball picture doesn't give much clarity.

The mat is about only 1.4 inches tall. I have my section inserted in a rubber base, if it was just on the floor next to your stance mat I would expect it to crawl forward with every swing. You'll want to find a way to anchor it to your stance mat.

You might want to reach out the the guy (Grant) who posted a comment in post#6 regarding the fact the he has both and uses the one similar to the Quattro but switches it up.

I have a FB studio 6x4 mat but then switched to using 3x1 FB squares cut into my putting turf.

Thinking about buying a couple of 12"x35" pieces to test out because I am always looking to tinker with my sim room.

I might be willing to sell off one 12"x35" piece for $75 shipped. That will cover 1/2 my cost + the cost to ship it to someone (US). Just putting it out there if interested but obviously I have to order, wait 10 days, test it out and decide I don't want both pieces of turf.
