  • TGC/Protee - GSX Settings and Bluetooth adapter

Settings for GSX when used with TGC:

Set all carry, back spin, and side spin settings to default of zero.
Putting speed = (set to what feels right for your turf).
    Putting forgiveness set to 2.
All penalty settings must be at default of zero

    Bluetooth adapters working:
    Asus USB-BT400 Bluetooth 4.0
    4Cirago Bluetooth 4.0 BTA8000 with Extended Range(EDR)

If you're having Bluetooth connection issues, definitely try a different brand Bluetooth adapter. If you're using the metal protective cage, try connecting without the GC2 being in the cage. Also, don't just plug the adapter in the back of the computer. Use a 6-15 foot USB extension cable to attach the Bluetooth adapter. This will put it out in the open an allow for a better signal.

    GC2 Bluetooth Adapter Code: 0000

Shut the protee stuff down and started again and the GSX slider worked to connect again.

Next test will be to see if I have the port forwarding set up for on line play. Then to see how fast this Geforce GTX780 card is.
    Very nice!

Hey guys... Finally got my GC2 today! Having issues connecting to the computer via Bluetooth. The computer finds the GC2's signal, but then seems to immediately drop it. I don't think this is a distance issue, so it may just be a bad dongle. What Bluetooth USB adapter do you guys use? Thanks!

If you have another Bluetooth device, like a cellphone, try connecting that to the computer and see what happens. Also, you can try connecting gc2 to a tablet. This should help you eliminate things.

HW, I thought of that too and got the same result. Something is up with the adapter. Has anyone had success with an adapter using Windows 8 and the GC2?

mm and SFR got it to work fine on Windows 8.1. Did you try my suggestions above?

Hey Zmax, I know distance or line of sight weren't the issue as I had everything right on to of the computer while trying to connect. I think i need to try another brand, but I'd like to try something that someone has found successful so I can avoid aimlessly purchasing and testing multiple adapters until I find what works. I'll PM those guys to see what they're using. Thanks!!!

I went through 3 adapters before I found the best one. Keep us posted.

I installed the driver from the manufacturer of my bluetooth device -Targus in this case. It's been working good once I did that. There were a lot of bluetooth issues with win8.1 but new drivers should work fine.

Thanks MM. I started with the company's driver. I'm actually wondering if I should uninstall that and see what the windows drivers do.

I'll be sure to post whatever solution I end up with Zmax.

Just don't look at it. When I stopped checking the bluetooth status the thing was just connected. It seems like opening the bluetooth settings makes windows do dumb things. Have you tried a different USB port on the computer? What brand is it?

Which one is best? The Asus USB-BT400 Bluetooth 4.0 ?

And a simple USB cable can extend the range from my PC in to my bay?

Mm, it's funny you say that. It says it's connected but then when I look in the Bluetooth tray nothing is there, and I've been wondering if it is still connected anyway. I have tried all 7 USB ports! It's a Panda. I'm going to try my iPhone again and see if that stays connected according to the phone.

Just looking at the original post with suggested GSX settings with the GC2. They need to be updated since the last few updates. The above will be too long now.
To leave leave irons and wedges all at default 0 for me will still have the Protee distance come up short by a few yards compared to the GC2 read out. Setting it to 3 or 4 is about even or slightly more (a yard or two).
The Driver is still needed to be boosted to 7 - 10. The putting forgivness needs to be at 2 now to use the rounded off to 0 when ball path is less than 1.5 deg.

I am finding it ok to just have all irons for your club options and then on the tee it will just select your longest iron (which if irons and wedges are set all the same it won't matter) and then just hit any club you want. I find hitting woods come out as matching the GC2 readout better this way. Others need to test.

Thanks SFR... I was going to ask if anything had changed dramatically over the last year.
