TGC Match Play - 2016 Open Flight

Attached is the bracket. Here's the instructions and rules:

Step 1:
-Reach out to your opponent via Private Message on this forum.
-Set up a 2 hour window to play
-Please ensure your name in TGC is the same as it is in this bracket. If not, let your opponent know.
-Decide who is starting the game and inviting the other in the match

Step 2:
-Add each other as friends in TGC using TGC nickname
-This is done at the start up screen where "start server" and "start game" is by clicking the icon with 3 heads then add your opponent.
-Both have to do it

Step 3:
-decide on a method of communication
-You can text, whatsapp, teamspeak, phone each other or use the new discord method. If you don't agree, we default to TeamSpeak

Step 4:
-Both players enter TGC and go to main screen where you click play
-Both players need to set their handicap to 0. This is done by hitting play round then hitting edit on your player. There's a spot called "set handicap". Set it to 0 then save then back out to main screen if you are not the host..
-The host player now enters the match by clicking the little arrow in the first box that defaults to "Stroke Play". Set it to "Online Match Play" (has to be online) then "advance". Click "all courses" then enter the following course in the text box:

-start the round as you normally do then select "OPEN". You are in the lobby. Your playing partner should be listed there. Click on him and it'll invite him to the tee. Just start your game from there.
-Before hitting a shot, both players now need to click settings, turn order, set to on. This will allow you to see your partner play in real time. Other wise, you'll appear as a ghost ball. You can have it off if both agree. If you don't agree, on is the default.
-Everything should be automatic from there.

Step 5:
-Post on this thread who won.

I've been thinking about that as well. On more than one occasion I get kicked out say on 15 and when I get back on I find that I'm back on 12. That happened 2 events ago. As it happens I was even par on those holes and when I replayed them I was 2 over. Really hurt.

why is it everyone I hear having that issue owns a skytrak

i noticed that when i cycle through clubs the wrong way and run through putter, the skytrak app would sometimes crash. something about switching quickly into and out of putting mode didn't agree with my computer. if you play tgc in windowed mode, when skytrak glitches out, you can minimize tgc, and restart the skytrak app and resume playing.

Yes I have also found that it happens when switching clubs and going from like a wedge to playing a different style shot with a different lofted club and running through putter as well!

What version of the SkyTrak for TGC interface are you using? You can see the version on the main screen of the interface.

i was using app version 1.42 of the skytrak tgc interface. it didn't happen every time but when it would crash, that was usually the reason.

yeah, use windowed mode for your matches if skytrak.

alternatively, if you need to reboot ST, hit control-enter or the windows key to pop into windowed mode, fix it and then either continue in Windowed mode, or control-enter again to get back to full-screen, but it gets clunky when you go back to FS mode. Better off just continuing in Windowed mode if that happens.

I've been running in windowed mode only for 2 years. Too unstable in full screen.

I always run windowed mode as well!

if you have a system you feel should run no problem in full screen mode, but does not and you have lowered settings in attempt to fix it, run something like msi afterburner in the background and get some temp data on your gpu's. I've done a ton of triple-monitor gaming at 5760x1080 that just absolutely kills cards and just about every problem I have ever had, especially intermittent performance issues, has been heat related.

Not super easy on video cards yet, but water cooling fixes these issues 8 times out of 10.

Anyway, completely different subject that I am admittedly not 100% up-to-date on these days...

I don't know why that happens either. I've been having some connection issues this week. I tried to play the last tournament. I birdied the first hole, hit it close on 2 and it froze on my putt. I had to exit and when I went back in it put me on the first tee. I now doubled 1 and then it unconnected on 2 and I went to the bar. Another no tournament. Today, I tied the glen abbey one and lost connection once in 36 holes. I restarted and it actually resumed mid flight of my shot. Strange.

Can you re-try, I just went through the steps listed above in TGC. I added vincent and aero to try on my end. I have a skytrak, so hopefully i did it correctly with the long license key.

opponents need to add each other. I don't think it'll invite the other to be friends. Boo was there for me but no wbond. Is that the TGC name?

This might be a really stupid question but when does the first bracket round start/end hahahah Does the first post mean it started. I couldn't find a date on here or the bracket PDF. It wouldn't be the first time i miss something sitting right in front of me hahahahaha

It's not a firm start end but it started yesterday. 1 week is plenty for a round. Less is good too. The OP has the bracket. You play Branover. Pm him to see availability

All you have add is your opponent. Nothing else. There shouldn't be chaos in adding one name at the TGC startup.

gene do you want my spot in the tournament ? I'm about finish with my new sim room but it will take till mid next week to get it done and operational. I would be able to somehow play this week but it would be in a temp. setup which setting it up will take away time from my build and delay it. Please let me know what you think. If not, no problem I can play the round. I already talked to mthunt and he is ok with it

I guess if someones cptr crashes or game get lost partway through the round easy enough to start over then just do skip a hole until you get back where you were?????

I've never tried that in online match play but it should work
