Any sort of an ETA on the next protee update or TGC course sync??

OK, I will just drop this. I just arrived at work to my job of developing software I promised a customer I would have. We even have weekly meetings to see the progress. Great communication between customer and business. TGC has its place. Everybody has an opinion, there are many that share mine. By the way, they are not deleloping this for "free". They will be in a competitive market they just entered and I hope for their sake they listen and act quickly.

For what it's worth, I only see PG and E6 1.6/cloud as TGC competition.

These are the only 3 sim softwares currently available that offer integration with multiple hardware platforms, outside of the usual ridiculously expensive proprietary software that each hardware company usually offers.

PG and TGC are graphically superior. E6 is feature-richly superior. Many little differences in between.

Everyone has their opinion on which of those is more important. It'll be interesting to see who comes out on top over the next few years.

If you ask me, every single sim software option, hell hardware option, is too expensive for what they offer, ignoring the obvious reason of supply/demand, but it is what it is.

Bnorm, sell your TGC. They aren't trying to be e6, so they won't be. Go buy an e6 course with your proceeds. You'll clearly be happier and so will the person buying your TGC. Personally I love having both, but for completely different reasons. Good luck.

I'm glad someone thought it was funny. I never said I wasn't happy with tgc. There are things I do like for example the graphics and ability to design courses. If you read every one of my replies, you will see it's about when we will get this update. They are not responding. Bubba finally answered below. It Hasn't been about which product is better, it's about delivering on some basic things and communication with the customer base.

I hear you Bnorman.i appologize that info has been slow to come. There is a lot coming in this update ( game modes, offset position etc.). I was hoping the testers were going to get testing around Xmas and it released by now. There have been some bugs that stopped this. Wills keep you posted.

Like E6, Love TGC. PG looks nice but have never played it. WGT doesn't impress me at all. I am not a fan of static images. Then they pan left and right a little to make it seem like things are moving.... weak. Love the trees and water on PG. Love the gameplay on TGC...... I can't see myself enjoying another game more than this. As for the updates. TGC is a console game, We should be happy that HB is doing anything for us over and above letting us use TGC.

To answer the op, the Jan update will obviously eventually come. I am not sure the date. There have been some bugs they have been dealing with and will not release a poor working product. Once ready it will be tested by a group of folks and hopefully released.

I check every morning for the update. My friends are really hoping that Guests stats will be kept similar to mine. Eagles, birdies, longest drive, fairways in reg etc. This game has great potential. We have to remember that it was meant for Xbox and PS. Let's remember what we were using before TGC.....Red Chain anyone?

Agree it has great potential and it has some great things now. As I've said, I do software for a living and thus am critical about delivery and communication. Bubba answered and I appreciate it. Believe me, I know a thing or 2 about bugs. Looking forward to the updates. I will add that I received a link to the Canucks 50 top courses available in another thread and it makes a huge difference. It has been hit or miss, mainly miss, on courses I've played and it hasn't helped my opinion. I played a good version of pebble and I could feel myself being swayed to tgc. Again, my whole intent was to get answers just like the first post. There are other threads about comparison and somehow this got steered in that direction and I apologize for my part in that. I got my answer from bubba and I am good with that .

Keither, I will add it's not a matter of thinking we are lucky they do anything. Golf simulators and launch monitors are getting more affordable and there is money to be made. I got an email from flightscope about their integration with e6. It turned into as much an ad for e6 as it did for flightscope. E6 is going to be announcing their cloud. So, not to tout e6 because we've gone down that road but it is in tgc/HB's best interest to get these features out there into what could be turning into a more lucrative market.

I agree that there's is money to be made on the golf sim front. If HB didn't realize this, there wouldn't be any updates. HB obviously makes many more times the money with PS4 and Xbox one sales. With PG on the horizon maybe HB will put more resources towards the sim side. PG will be some competition for TGC and that's good for us. If Skytrack could get their act together, we would have a much larger user base and a stronger voice. I realize the TGC isn't perfect but it's a whole lot of fun and it's getting better with every update.

E6 has been announcing their cloud coming on to 2 years if I'm not mistaken. You could do worse than to listen to some of the more experienced forum members before educating everyone about the market.
As has been pointed out by some of the more experienced members here, the golf sim landscape has changed quite a bit in the past 3 years. And let's be realistic, the golf sim market is, and will stay, a small niche market.

I'm not trying to educate anybody about anything. I am simply saying, like 46 does below, we would expect some communication. You are trying to make more of this than it is. Go ahead and keep making excuses for HB and inferring my opinion doesnt matter since I am not an "experienced" member of this forum. My comment in this case was I dont feel "happy they do anything to improve". I paid good money for this and it with the understanding they would make improvements on playability as is in the top 5 improvements thread. I know some tasks are harder than others. It will be hard to move the pins for instance. What I dont thing would be hard is to give better numbers to hazards and make it more mouse friendly. Give better search options like by designer. If you're happy with where it's at fine. I want to see improvements and most of all, communication, like I said in the first place and what this thread was about in the first place.

I think Kieths point is that Red Chain started as a pc game and morphed into a sim software probably more used than E6. There is lots planned for TGC. The folks at HB realize the potential. We still need to be vocal and make demands realizing they won't come overnight.

I don't know that everyone is making excuses for them, just being realistic. TGC is a video game, it's MAIN audience are not simulator users, by a large margin. That's why people that understand this are patient for these necessary features, as they understand, looking at it from HB Studio's standpoint, it's not feasible to work on changes for <1% of your user base.

I would hope since we paid about 30x more than HB's user base, we could get some communication from HB or future vision where the software is going. I have TGC, Protee software, and PG. I've been playing PG the most lately because of the actual gameplay. It's easy to play with my kids, different tees, par 3 challenges/multiple pin placements, menu changes are a lot simpler. I'm hoping TGC can actually add these features, do they just need time and resources or would they need to come out with a TGC 2.0?

Update being tested by testers now. Course sync hopefully next week. The new update will be tested in 2 batches as it is big. Hopefully it will be bug free. Will keep you posted.

Just imagine, tgc releases some awesome updates and skytrak releases tgc at the same time, could it get any better? One can dream!!!

Added Rustic theme

Added the ability to change texture colours.
