I’m in the process of getting one Matt and cutting it into pieces for myself and others to fit into their stance matts

Yeah I saw your thread and am looking forward to your review. I was referring to the people that ordered direct from the manufacturer in China, the YGT-3D mat. I'm not 100% sure but it appears to be the same thing that Wittek is just reselling.

They look similar but I just went on Wittek's site and they're running a special for the Quattro mat at $299. Checked shipping and for me, Wittek is about $50 cheaper

if you read all the threads and information already out here , you’ll find it’s a very personal choice , with much disagreement

a lot of it is based on your swing , your ball striking , what you are looking for in a hitting surface

How would this work as a hitting strip if I currently have a rawhide mat? Would I just cut out the shape I need and put it in?

I have a 5x5 mat with a 12x18 inch cutout, in which I have tried many different mats including Country Club Elite, Divot Action, Fiberbuilt, etc.

A couple weeks ago I ordered the YGT-3D based on this thread, and have to say it is the best mat I have used to date! It just feels very realistic and soft to hit, and does not grab the club like some other turfs. This will definitely be the turf I keep for the simulator going forward.

Compared to some of the other popular options:
Fiberbuilt - Nice to hit from, but seems like the ball is always "sitting on a tee" (felt like cheating :>), and not ideal for putting.
Country Club Elite - Seemed to "Grab" my clubs
Divot Action - Forgiving, but didn't feel natural

I purchased two 12x18 YGT-3D sections for $15US each, and $30 for shipping to Canada, and was surprised to received the FedEx shipment with ~5 days.

It was also easy to drill a hole through, to put in an adjustable rubber tee.

At last the search is over!

My review of Quattro Mat from Wittek Eagle One:
Purchased 59x59 inch mat through their site $299.00 + $62.00 shipping to Ohio from Chicago. Order processed on Monday delivered to my door on Wednesday.

6’1”-218lbs (my winter coat weight)

Previous Mat- The Pro Turf 6' x 10' Golf Mat
I searched around the forum for some insight on upgrading my mat when I came across this thread. Thank you for all your input and hope this review can help someone. Was leaning toward the TrueStrike but was not sure I wanted to spend that kind of money. My SIM is not permanent and needs access to break down. I wanted to upgrade for the following reasons:

1. Wear quality: My current mat was wearing unbelievably bad in both hitting and set up areas.
2. True shot feedback: I fight a steep descending swing fault. When this occurs, it causes a fat shot reducing contact with the ball. The results on turf is a reduction of yardage and accuracy. When this happens on hard surface mats my club bounces into the ball giving a false result from what would occur on turf. My Pro Turf mat was producing these false results.
3. Health: I reference above and my swing fault. This puts strain on both my wrists and elbow when I make repeated contact with a hard surface. I am a range junkie and love to bang balls. Due to the strain this mat caused I found myself trying to pick the ball off the mat. This was evident when I was able to play a few rounds.

My assessment:
As everyone else, I am observing the shelter in place reality. Since I have nothing to do but hit balls, I put 2 long sessions on this Quattro Mat. Full disclosure, comparing the Quattro to the Pro Turf is not a fair comparison so I yield to those who have compared it to the TrueStrike, Fiberbuilt or other more comparable options.

1. Wear quality: No wear at all in hitting area or set up area. Someone posted a concern about being too soft to use as set up mat. It is not for my 218lb frame. I have not experienced any sag while stationary or through the ground force of the swing. Additionally, since this is a square mat it allows 4 different set up areas. I am not using the tee holes since I use a surface tee but the mat has a 2 hole set on each side. No green residue on clubs or SkyTrak FMJ. My only nit is that it would be 72X72 in size. It is enough room but the extra square foot would be nice.
2. True shot feedback: Pure shot = pure result, fat shot = fat results. The club goes through the shot does not bounce through the shot nor does it grab. I noticed a big difference with this in my wedge shots. What I experienced with my swing fault is remarkably close to what I experience on turf regarding yardage reduction and accuracy.
3. Health: In the 2 days I used the Quattro I executed “Vijay Singh” range sessions. Honestly, after the first day on my old mat I would not be able to hit balls on day 2. No issues, no soreness, and no pain.

I realize this is a small sample time of the Quattro and if I have any updates positive or negative, I will post it.
