    Tour Rules

i just got back from Vegas and my club closed on Sunday. It's sim season and we are getting new players every day so I figured I'd repost this. Tour Rules

    Rules Sticky
Purpose To offer an online league format that facilitates all that we enjoy about playing the Sport of Golf. To make Tournament settings on each round that compare

Hi everyone. I think it's important to revisit the rules every now and then as we keep getting new players. Our tour is designed for everyone and every system. It's only for fun but like real golf, we have chosen to allow you to police yourselves. Also like real golf cheating will get you banned. If you are going to play, play by the rules. Everything else is managed by the game. Below are mostly settings.

    TGC Tour Rules

    Boost and other shot mods:
+/- 5%. Most ProTee/ TGC supported systems have the ability to adjust your settings. This is from having sensor mats and tweaking them. For tour play, you are allowed to adjust any setting by 5%. This means you can add 5% max boost and decrease 5% spin. Believe me, 5% isn't going to change anyone's life. A 20 yard draw would draw 19 yards with 5% adjustment.

    Putting:
The standard putting setting was 2. We set it this way because we believed the GC2 would perform fairly at that setting. We recently changed it to allow you to increase the setting so the ball will only go straight. It's your choice what you use. I use 2. Move the slider all the way over and aim with the pointer only if you choose.

    Gimmies:
You have to set your system to a max of 1.8 yards. This is done by setting the Gimmie Setting to "Gimmie". If you want no gimmies, knock yourself out.

    Wind:
We play without wind. You must as well.

    Shot Recording:
Turn it on. You'll see SR in the standings. An X means it's off. We contact those who have it off but sometimes someone that isn't on the form enters a tournament. If it's off, you won't be included in any rankings.

    Rewinds:
Obviously a big one. Some systems give errors and strange things happen. Here's some examples:

    Allowed:
-A ball was in the FOV of your GC2 and you rolled another couple of balls near by and it read a 2 foot put.
-Your protee said the ball you hit in the middle of your screen went 25 degrees right.
-Your GSX said the ball went 20 yards and it was flushed into the screen.
    I think you get it.

    Not allowed:
-Your putt lipped out but you think you hit it straight
-Your bunker shot didn't clear the lip but you think it should have
-You sliced it and it's behind a tree
-You hit a 3 wood over water and it didn't make it but you once hit a 3 wood far enough to carry
-You hit a 5 iron and it rolled over the green but you hit a 5 iron outside last week and it stopped
-You hit it in the water and the game put you all the way back where you hit it from. Too bad.

Have fun and play by the rules.

If you are using TGC1 your scores automatically won’t count without shot recording.

You're doing it wrong in your settings. The only gimmie is inside 6 feet (auto 1-putt). Anything outside of 6 feet must be putted. Check your gimmie settings.

The rules for putting is to set to gimmie. Gimme means anything inside 6 feet is an auto 1 putt and anything outside of 6 feet you have to use your putter and putt. This isn’t going to change. The ProTee society will never be a tournament without putting.

You can set the Stimp and speed to whatever you want. The gimmie has to be set to Gimmie.

I don't see the ES Tour Plus in that list. Will I be ostracized and unable to compete?

Is there a specific list of LM's that are approved or will any system work? I'm just getting my sim setup finished (should be fine in about a week or two) and I'd like to Jon the your when I'm all set up and get my system dialed in.

The tour rule is setting gimmies to ‘gimmie’. The is 6 feet. You can go less or off but are not allowed to play on tour with ‘on green’ on.

I just played my first two rounds today at ProTee Q-School and turned gimmies off. Was this not the right thing to do? I had at least one 5-putt!

Prior to these two rounds, I had played 5 rounds at various courses within the game but I had gimmies on (2-putt outside 2m, and 1-putt inside 2m)

ID:	267324 Hello I wanted to post about my recent experience.
I recently purchased my simulator and joined the TGC Online community. I am reading through the different threads on this forum and came across the rules regarding rewinds.
I have been having the same hardware error occur quite frequently and when it happens is the only time I ever rewind my shot. The error occurs only when hitting Driver or 3W and happens about 3-4 times per round. The system will read the shot with much lower ball speed even while swing speed remains the same and it will change launch angle, sometimes extremely high (30+) degree or sometimes extremely low (>6 degrees)

My swing speeds and ball speeds are extremely consistent as I’ve played golf my entire life and play at scratch in open air. I just want to be pre-emptive to show what the error looks like so it’s not confused with me just rewinding shots on a whim.
All of my tee shots with driver are consistently 150-160 Ball speeds and then I’ll randomly have ones that drop by 30 percent down to 110 or so, which is a massive difference, this combined with a randomized launch angle and an odd spin number and the total carry will go down from 250-270 to anywhere from 120-180.

I read on the rules thread recently about a no tolerance when it comes to rewinds but please let me know if this scenario is an allowable rewind when you compare it to every other tee shot on my recorded history.

I’ve reached out to rapsodo about this and they are in the process of deciding whether to send me another unit.

I have attached an example of a shot in this message.

    Thanks.
Rewinds are ok in that situation but rewinds are only enabled in TGC1 events. In TGC2019, they are disabled.
