How to turn on SHOT RECORDING

Shot Recording is a Tournament feature. In order to use shot recording you must have a tournament user profile.
Play at least 1 live tournament event or official Q-School event in order for your tournament user profile to be created on golfsimulatortours.com .


TGC includes a SETTINGS file.

You can edit this file using the TGC Dashboard.
Skytrak users have a shortcut icon installed on the Windows Desktop: SkyTrak TGC Settings.

Important: Make sure the server or any other interface program is not running.




This settings file contains a section: [TGC Online].
Here you find:

Shot Recording=OFF
USER ID=<YOUR USER ID> eg. AAAA-1234-CCCC-5678-EEEE

1] Turn on Shot Recording by changing Shot Recording=OFF to Shot Recording=ON. Save the file.

2] Copy the USER ID.

3] Edit your Forum user profile and paste the USER ID in the field: TGC User ID.

4] Edit the field TGC Nickname in your forum user profile. Make sure its EXACTLY the same as the nickname you use in TGC (case sensitive).

5] Save you forum profile and hit a couple of test shots on a random course.



You will find the recordings on http://golfsimulatortours.com under your tour player profile.

StormGolf73 i know you have the rmotion; i just got the full version. I followed the instructions but seems like the userid keeps going back to my actual name. Were the instructions on here the same for the r-motion. I am about to start my q-school rounds and want to make sure i have shot recording on. In the settings this seems to be saving, any thoughts?

You change your name in TGC (edit player). The name shown in your settings file is your registration name and can not be changed.

I had everything working in January and played a few tour events. My computer died and I just rebuilt it, have everything working again except shot recording. I've followed the first 5 steps, but no new shots are being recorded. Did something get messed up when I rebuilt my computer?

Got it working. On the TGC screen with Settings/Server/Start Game/etc. there is a button called 'My Profile'. On that screen I had to enter my Tour Nickname (Abirdie4me). I guess that was erased when I did the reinstall. Looks like I'm ready to rejoin the Tour after 3 months away from golf...big numbers ahead for a while!

I still have an X beside my name on tour. Followed the steps and suggestions from others. It shows me as American also and I am Canadian.

I can see my name under "net" on the fall tour but not under gross, is there something I am doing wrong.

Due to the visibility when I first was entering my name on the projector to fix the initial issue I could not see that I had caps on, and my name was dtRAIN24 instead of DTrain24, so maybe thats caused an issue?

Usernames for shotrecording / tournaments are case sensitive.

Set your name correctly and make sure you never change it if you want everything tour/recording related to keep working.

Hi, sorry for the question but in the settings file there is a field 'User Name' which for me is my full name (Alan Chatfield).

I also have a TGC Nickname, not sure where I entered that, I think on a TGC website? In any case, I'm pretty sure my TGC Nickname is AlanC.

I set my Shot recording to ON (Shot Recording=ON in settings file) & copied my User ID (i.e the XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX format ID) into the TGC User-ID field on my profile here,

what I'm not sure about is if I should change my User Name in the settings file from Alan Chatfield to AlanC (the field in the settings file doesn't say 'User Nickname' but I have a feeling, also from reading some posts n here that it may need to be the nickname to match what I have entered here in my profile settings, which asks for a TGC Nickname & not a TGC User Name).

Please could someone advise whether I should also change my TGC User Name in the settings file to my TGC Nickname?

I haven't hit any shots yet but will do that this afternoon but did check and couldn't find myself on here after entering my TGC user ID & Nickname in my profile, thought I might but now wondering if a) it takes a bit of time to appear, b) I need to hit some shots first or c) the User Name in the settings file needs to match the TGC Nickname

I just set up my account. When I first set it up, I used the TGC nickname "Joe". That is obviously too common a name. I changed it to "mitch1588." When I look at my recorded shots on golfsimulatortours.com, the shot are being recorded, but they are under the tour player name "Joe" with the TGC nickname "mitch1588". Can this be fixed so the tour player name and TGC nickname are the same ("mitch1588")

how can you tell if shot recording is setup properly?

read the instructions many times, thought I had set it up correctly, but appears I didn't.
tgc player name (in Tgc) entered into forum profile (under Tgc nickname) and Tgc user id (xxxx-xxxx etc from Tgc settings file) entered into the forum profile (under Tgc user id)

Seeing my name in the tour players directory but getting errors when I try to click on it to drill down.
Seeing my scores for last two tour events and can see my scores for two q-school rounds I did today (did things a little backward, tried a couple of tour events before starting q-school)
