Hi davray,
I live outside of the US and have decided to purchase the unit.
All you need to do is create a US itunes account and download the app. The apps wont disappear from your ipad if you log in and out with different store accounts.
enjoy.

Thanks Mikkaat, I just assumed that since this is Apple that it will not work, so I never Googled it. I live in Sweden and will pick one up next time I am in the US. Bought a Vector pro a few weeks ago just for fun to see how it works. That is a serious piece of garbage. It's not useless but for sure not worth the 300€ I paid.

Hello everyone!
I have had my Skytrak since early December, and have quite a few balls with it. Overall I am very happy with the purchase. I only thing I wanted it for was the basic driving range setup, and be able to capture accurate data. I have it setup in my house, and have only hit irons with it due to space limitations.
I find it to be very accurate as far as distance and direction, but as many have pointed out it seem to exaggerate how spin would affect distance. High spinning lower irons see reduced distance when when the spin gets up in the 8000+ range, that I dont see in the real world. It also has an odd tendancy to give my a long and right shot that IMO did not actually happen. For example Im right handed and usualy hit a draw. On average the Skytrak would say I hit my 8 iron 165 yards with 800RPM of draw spin. I will hit a ball that I feel to be struck solid, but the ball flight shows the ball going 30 yards right and 190+ yards long with 1500RPM of cut spin..... I see this with maybe 1 in 30 balls.
The major complaint I have right know is the login process. This needs to get stream lined, and the bugs worked out. I have a Ipad Mini 2 that I bought only for the skytrak. It stays in my golf room and is used for nothing else. I have gotten to the point were I have to power off and back on the Ipad multiple times before I can get logged into and stay logged into the Skytack app. After I get signed into the app, I jump over to the ipad wifi setting to connect it to the Skytrak. I see that the wifi connects then attempt to go back to the skytack app. When the skytrak app opens its back to the login screen..... Then if you attempt re-enter your password it wont login because you are still connected skytrak wifi and not the home wifi. I have the remember my login info check box checked , but I seem to have to re-enter my info every time anyways. I connected it via my home wifi a few times but again I kept having to enter the home wifi password everytime, and that also seemed to make the app performace chopy.
Is anyone else having these login problems?

My impression on 1.8 version is that it seems to improve ball flights with high spins. I just hit some balls with my gap and pitching wedge. My gap wedge is usually for 115 yard carry. In the 1.7 app, I barely hit 105 yard carry with a bit of backward bounce. In 1.8, I easily hit 108-115 carry with a bit of forward bounce. The same story for my pitching wedge. This 1.8 version seems to show more realistic carry distance for my gap and pitching wedge. I'd like to hear more from others.

I just finished hitting about 50 balls with 1.8.
I first noticed the new settings on the range and think that looks like a nice upgrade.
As far as the distance goes. IMO 1.7 was accurate, but a few yards short on the wedges. 1.8........ The distances are all WAY to long. For me on 1.7 a well struck 7 iron goes 175-180yrds. My first 5 7irons were averaging 202yrds. All of the irons I hit were flying 20-25 yards long including down to a PW that was averaging 160yrds.
These distances were all done with no wind, normal ground conditions, and the default temp and elivation settings.
I will have to play around with the settings somemore to get the distances in check.

I had similar findings based on an hour or so this evening. For me, I was pleased to see my wedges and 9 iron seem correct, but now I'm carrying 7 irons and 6 irons really far. I plugged some numbers into flightscope's optimizer. It used to be quite comparable to skytrak's output, but now is way off for the 6 and 7 irons I hit this evening. I was just curious and I raised elevation to 1000 and temp to 80deg in the Skytrak settings to match my typical playing conditions here in GA. Result: 210 yd 6 irons on the fly... WAY out of the realm of possibility for me, especially when flightscope trajectory optimizer says 190 when I put in 1000 ft elevation.Originally posted by foggedz View PostI just finished hitting about 50 balls with 1.8.

I just hit several balls with my 7 iron. When looking at the carry distances, they seem a little longer. But, not much for me. What I don't like is 1.8 version adds too many yards after landing. 15-18 yards is ridiculous.Originally posted by TorchRedRob View PostI had similar findings based on an hour or so this evening. I put the ball data for my 7 iron into 'Optimal Flight' and 'Flightscope Trajactory Optimizer'. They both proved that Skytrak 1.8 presented longer carry distances (5-10 yards) which matched my feeling when hitting. With the crazy extra yards after landing, the total yardage is even worse. I wish I had waited on downloading. Grrrr.

I only hit some wedges last night and they are definitely improved for carry, however i think the rollout is pretty excessive. I think it said you can change the ground condition settings. I will have to look into that more as well as hitting the mid irons to see how far off they are.
