Best mat I've ever hit off of, wow!

Currently I don’t have a strip built into my mat so I will hold off. My current mat is likely going to be deferred to the one to dampen the balls rebounding off my net and looking for a complete 5x5 to stand on.

FYI I just purchased this mat and excited to try it out and post a review I have had the All Turf Mat and it is very much under performing. Too squishy to stand on and the ball sits down slightly and its very difficult to pick the ball clean. I thought I had regressed in my golf game but I layed some astro turf on top of it in the hitting area and I was hitting perfectly normal clean strikes.

Thanks guys for bringing the Quattro mat to my attention. I just needed a strip so I ordered this: https://www.dwquailgolf.com/high-tec...ctice-mat-1x2/ which I think is the same construction. I've probably hit about 600-800 iron shots off it now, and I really like it. In my opinion, the turf is what makes this mat so good. The club seems to glide across it and not get hung up, which is a lifesaver for your elbow on the occasional fat strike. I actually have mine mounted on a thin (1/4") board that gives it a bit of extra flex.

No comparison to CCE, which is so grabby that I'm inclined to throw in the trash (that way I won't ever be tempted to try it again). From a health perspective, it seems on par with the Fiberbuilt to me, although completely different principle of operation. The Fiberbuilt is very lush, so the club can scoop down into the fibers with little shock, but there may be a little more grab? The Quattro gives you more of a shock, but less grab, which is very effective for me.

I hit 100 8 irons, 100 7 irons, and 50 6 irons yesterday with about an hour break between each. Today I'm ready to go hit some more. I don't think I could do that with any other mat that I've tried so far? Just my 2 cents, but I feel like this mat is a winner for me.

I've emailed Steven Huang with Yantai YGT Co., Ltd a couple of times as I want to purchase some YGT 3D hitting strips but have not had a response. Is there another way to order? Is anyone else having issues?

I need a hitting strip of the Quattro material. If we could find a couple more folks we could just order a mat and cut it up. The slot in the end of the DWQuail strip kinda sucks. I'm paranoid about catching that slot and ripping the mat. I have a piece of PVC pipe that acts like a bumper to protect against hitting the slot.

I emailed Stephan and got a response. He stated that it's really expensive to just ship one mat and suggested I look elsewhere. I ordered the DWQuail practice mat which looks to be the same (probably cut out in a pattern to get 3 or 4 per mat shipped from China)

Jagall75 IowaCat89 A bit of an update - I heard from Steven at YGT on May 7th and I ended up ordering a 48"x18" strip of the YGT-3D mat. Price was $50 USD with express shipping an additional $60 USD for a total of $110 USD. I thought that was very reasonable.

I heard from Steven this morning and the mat has shipped from China. Not sure when it will arrive but it's on the way.

Thanks for the info. I should probably contact Steven and get a quote also. I guess YGT must be operational at this point (perhaps they always were?). I really need my work to open back up so that I can receive it at a dock rather than a residence.

It looks to me the same as the Quattro mat to me.

Maybe it was the size of the mat? I think he is willing to ship strips rather than full size mats. Wasn't much of a problem. He sent me a PayPal email address to pay him. Pretty simple transaction.

Can I ask how everyone is installing these? I bought a CCE a few years ago but would only hit off of it into my net from time to time. I just ordered a skytrak and looking into mats and I’m a little concerned about all the injuries people have had with it.

Are people cutting out strips from their current mat and installing these in? Any differences in height an issue? Does cutting mats cause the fibers to un-weave? No really sure how to go about this but I’d like to install this into my CCE if there is anything else I’m leaving off.

No idea right now how I'm going to do that.

I also may cut out a 24"x18" rectangle in my stance mat and then cut the YGT mat in half to have a pair of hitting inserts.

I guess I really don't know what I'm going to do. I'll figure it out when the YGT mat arrives.

I am in the same boat, I ordered two strips of the YGT mats from Steven and was planning on cutting out places from my current mat and just insert the YGT. Figured I would check some of the posts here to see how everyone was securing their cutouts.

My current mat is a fairly cheap one and is relatively worn out around the hitting surface but I don't want to screw it up by cutting it incorrectly.


Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi guys,

I am in Japan and just received my mats from China. I sent Paypal payment to Steven on the 8th and they arrived in just about one week. Very happy with the customer service and turn around. I ended up ordering two at a reduced shipping rate for the second mat so will use one and keep the other as a spare in case the one starts to wear out. The mats are 30 x 90 cm strips so fairly good size and will likely last a long time.

My current stance mat is 100 cm x 150 cm so I had thought about cutting that and just fitting the YGT mat inside. However, my current mat is only about 2 cm tall and the YGT mats are quite thick at around 4 cm. I had thought about getting some plywood and raising up the stance mat but I actually have 2 cm tiles on my hitting surface so I decided to pull up 30 x 90 cm worth of tiles and just fit the YTG inside that space. The wife is not going to be happy about that. It seems to fit fairly snugly that way and is fairly level with the other hitting mat.

First impression is good although it is quite a bit thicker than the mat I have been hitting off of so does seem to be a little more grabby. My current mat is just a cheap thin mat that I think I have just gotten used to hitting off of and because it is so thin, even the fat shots seemed to be fairly forgiven. The YGT seems to be less forgiving of fat shots and I was losing quite a bit of distance as a result. That seemed to be especially true with the longer irons. Fairway woods seemed to be pretty good and chipping from around 40 yards in felt fantastic.

I think it will take a little getting used to but I think I am going to really like these mats.

That's good news, sirish19. I definitely want a mat that peanalizes fat shots. Thanks for your review. I ordered mine on May 7th and it is scheduled to arrive on May 19th. Pretty decent turnaround from China to Canada. Looking forward to it.
